Climate Change influence in fungi

چکیده

Abstract The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2013) and almost the entire scientific community agreed to consider Mediterranean Area as one of most vulnerable regions in world impacts global warming. In this scenario, heat waves, defined by World Meteorological Organization five or more consecutive days reaching a daily maximum temperature at least 5 °C higher than average temperature, have been recently foreseen be particularly frequent intense Portugal. As consequence, agriculture constitutes sensitive sectors that could affected climate change. Among xenobiotics contaminating agricultural crops, mycotoxins (MY) are challenging since their presence represents an economic burden due crops loss serious health effects related for animal human with severe repercussions. Many fungal plant pathogens species from Aspergillus Fusarium genera produce MY harmful health. contamination cereals grains is commonly reported, change scenario can also influence significantly during postharvest phase having implications food security safety aspects. Additionally, it specific increase leading use azole-based fungicides. Azole-based fungicides used antifungals control fungi production crops. However, excessive long-term azole has led emergence acquired resistance some pathogenic trigger potential humans toxigenic potential. Overall, changes species, exposure mycotoxins, promote and, consequently, occurence life-threatening infections.

Climate change and spring-fruiting fungi.

Most macrofungi produce ephemeral fruit bodies during autumn but some have adapted to spring fruiting. In this study, temporal changes in the time of spring fruiting in Norway and the UK during 1960-2007 have been investigated by statistical analyses of about 6000 herbarium and field records, covering 34 species. Nearly 30 per cent of the temporal variation in fruiting could be ascribed to spat...

Symbiotic soil fungi enhance ecosystem resilience to climate change

Substantial amounts of nutrients are lost from soils through leaching. These losses can be environmentally damaging, causing groundwater eutrophication and also comprise an economic burden in terms of lost agricultural production. More intense precipitation events caused by climate change will likely aggravate this problem. So far it is unresolved to which extent soil biota can make ecosystems ...

Spatial analysis of climate change in Iran

Introduction Climate change is the greatest price society is paying for decades of environmental neglect. The impact of global warming is most visible in the rising threat of climate-related natural disasters. Globally, meteorological disasters more than doubled, from an average of forty-five events a year to almost 120 events a year (Vinod, 2017). Climate change refers to changes in the distr...
